#1. 1st Place: In the tumult of nature, mamma bear dreams by Inés Godínez Aguirre de Cárcer (Spain)
A short but heavy storm fell at Cabarceno, the mamma bear didn’t even budge as she peacefully but alert, watches over her two cubs sleaping underneath.
#2. 2nd Place: My Kingdom by Simon Biddie (United Kingdom)
Male California sea lions are distinct from female sea lions; they are larger in size, have thick necks and possess a protruding, grey sagittal crest. During mating season the dominant males become territorial and protect their harem, which can be up to 30 females. Bursting through a shoal of sardines, this imposing male seal lion is framed by the sardines, with his harem seen behind him.
